Interview with Ken Ng, General Manager, Hong Kong, Crozier

What’s been happening in Hong Kong these past few weeks?

It’s been a busy and exciting time for the team as we’ve just wrapped up a successful Art Basel Hong Kong and the auctions taking place in the region. This year's edition brought together 240 leading galleries from 42 countries and territories, drawing an impressive 91,000 visitors over its VIP and public days.

This year, we offered exhibitors an enhanced service, drawing on expertise from Art Handlers across Korea, Indonesia, Europe, and the UK. The knowledge-sharing benefits of having access to such a diverse and experienced pool of talent are immense, and it means that our global clients get to work with the same crew members from fair to fair. We make a point to check in with clients at least three times a day so we are available to support them in real time.

I would like to thank Crozier for collaborating with us to achieve great success with our art handle setup and all the logistics arrangements! Despite the tight timelines, you provided the best solutions and ensured everything on-site was perfectly prepared. We’re all looking forward to working with Crozier again for our next sale.

Thank you for the fantastic support provided by the Crozier team during this year’s ABHK 25. The meticulous planning and execution in arranging the shipment, installation, and dismantling of the artworks, along with the invaluable onsite support, played a crucial role in the overall success of the fair.

What stood out to you about Art Basel Hong Kong this year?

The atmosphere was great and I’m pleased to say it was a record year for Crozier Hong Kong with the highest number of galleries served. I particularly enjoyed the presentations from Hauser & Wirth, Pace, Perottin, and Thaddaeus Ropac, as well as the large sculptures, installation, and performance of Encounters.

What else is coming up in Hong Kong?

Due to increased demand, we will be opening our largest state-of-the-art storage facility in the Kowloon District later this year. This facility will feature the largest viewing room in Hong Kong, with barrisol lighting, thoughtfully designed to provide our clients with a first-class experience.

A new 5.5-tonne electric vehicle which will be available to clients for local transportation in May, reducing costs and minimizing carbon impact. In addition, we will soon be rolling out consolidated air shipments to fully leverage Crozier’s footprint across Europe, Asia, and North America. This means that galleries and collectors can expect the same seamless experience when shipping art from wherever they are in the world. Crozier’s comprehensive transportation network and forty-plus storage facilities uniquely position us to operate the most optimal routes based on volume, saving costs, and carbon emissions.
